(what I need is only what you'll give me) Why was he at this party again? Oh. Right. It was the only night off he'd had in weeks and the few friends he had demanded that he went out with them. Not that that had done much good, because both of them were currently off doing ~something with a girl, and Danny was sat on a couch, surrounded by couples dancing and dryhumping like there was no tomorrow. He could smell alcohol and stale smoke in the air, looking longingly outside where he might get at least some fresh air. The only good thing about this party was that Alex was here, his crush. Not that the boy was paying attention to him, he probably didn't even know Danny existed. Which yeah, that was .. probably for the best, he reckoned. He didn't think he could stand it if Alex did know him and turned out only to want him for a night (if even that) like every other boy and girl in school. He had a reputation as the school slut, which was highly undeserved since he'd only slept with someone once, though he did make out with some. What could he say? He was lonely sometimes, in need of some affection, no matter how fleeting or fake, alcohol-induced.
The other reason he was here, aside from his friends dragging him, was that he tried to stay away from his father as much as possible. Danny still loved the man, for the way he'd been before his mother passed away, but lately he'd felt increasingly uncomfortable at home. A slap had been common enough these past months, but for the past few weeks the man had looked at him in a way that made his hairs rise.
Shivering just now at the memory, Danny took a sip from his (luckily unspiked) coke, glancing up when the DJ called out that there was a request. He wasn't really interested in anything he had to say, though his ears perked up when Alex was mentioned. He'd heard the boy sing just once before - which had actually started his crush, because he was never able to resist creative and musical people - and had stood there, mouth agape, pressed into a corner so he wouldn't be noticed. He was much the same now, huddled on the couch, one leg drawn up to his chest and his hair in front of his face so he didn't attract any attention. Just listening to him would be enough, would give him the idea that there was still something good in the world (after all, there was music, and that was an inherently beautiful and good thing), giving him the strength to go home tonight.

Give me a reason...+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Was it because of the lights? No. The smell of alcohol? No. The cheering crowd? Ah yes, he found his answer. This intoxicating feeling was familiar to Alex. How? When he (rarely) performed alongside his mother, filling in gaps when they did occur, he was filled with the exact same feeling that he drowned himself in, right here, right now. He loved how he could lose himself in a song and the way in which the crowd fueled this heightened madness: their cheering. A performer would be nothing without his or her supporters, and right now, Alex was an entertainer. Even though he was shy about becoming one when he was younger, after receiving a small taste of it at eleven years old, he couldn’t get a big enough of a dosage of it. In his mind, music was the most addictive drug in this world and the next.
The song that fell from is lips expressed his desire to protect a single soul that he loves, even though this person denies the fact that he or she might feel the same way. It was a song of the desperation for the expression of love, that selflessness for another person. Sure, Alex preferred singing and playing songs that fell into the Rock and Metal genres, but he had a broad range that very few people knew he covered. Skillet was a band that he listened to on a daily basis, but he felt that he should knock everyone off of their feet by lining up a different song. He raised his hand in the direction of the DJ and created a line in the air by trailing his index finger a few centimeters upwards, offering a friendly wink as well. “No, you'll never be alone. When darkness comes you know I'm never far,” he continued through the last verse of the song, throwing his head back, his black bangs falling over his eyes. “Hear the whispers in the dark.” His voice then trailed echoes of the words ‘whispers in the dark’, fading out.
The blonde took a small bow as the crowd of people cheered and whistled, literally begging him for another song. He couldn’t help but giggle to himself at this. If only they knew what I was planning, he thought. If I’m an entertainer, I might as well go all the way tonight. Turning to nod at the DJ, a new melody entered the air. With all gazes on Alex, he slowly started to move to the beat. The genre could be described as Electro-pop or Dance-pop, definitely different to the previous song on a dramatic level. Alex hooked his thumb into the top of his black and grey-patched skinny jeans, his silver nails shimmering against the dark material. Pulling the material down a little and biting his bottom lip in a teasing manner, he started on his next song. “You're not the type of man to shake my hand like, "Nice to meet ya",” he breathed out sensually, black-rimmed eyes, accompanied by glitter-black eyeshadow tonight, looking shyly, innocently, through his bangs.
There was an instant hype among the young men as Alex sung this particular song. Now, he was more like a girl that oozed sex into her lyrics and movements. He never explored this side of ‘entertainment’ before tonight, but no one would have thought of him as inexperienced by the spectacle that he displayed. He trailed his hand up, now lifting his white t-shirt with its neon colour swashes just enough to reveal his well-toned stomach area. A naughty smile crossed his crystal-glossed lips as he winked at a group of guys that were gawking at him. “When we touch, I can feel we've got a chemistry. Can't get enough. Watch ya when you stand so close to me,” he breathed into the mic as he ran his fingertips over his skin. “I've got you under my skin.” +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+SONG REFERENCE: "Under My Skin" by Sarah Connor

(what I need is only what you'll give me) The first song was beautiful, and Danny kept his grey eyes on him through the entire performance, unable to look away for a single second. He liked watching people perform, no matter if they were dancing or singing or playing an instrument, the look on their faces as they coaxed music from somewhere and gave joy to people was amazing to watch. It also left him feeling a little lonely at the end, when he realized that the performance he'd been so enraptured by wasn't meant for him, and that Alex probably didn't care whether or not he had liked it. Danny chewed on his lip for a moment, finishing his coke and putting the can on the table just as the crowd began cheering for another song. Apparently Alex obliged because different music soon filtered through the room, and when Danny looked back up he saw the boy touching himself onstage while he sang.
It .. hurt, in a strange way. To see someone he had a crush on being so sexual in front of a group of complete strangers. It wasn't that it was meant for him alone, after all, Alex didn't even know him, but he still felt strangely close to crying when he caught sight of the performance. Maybe it was because it cheapened him, because Alex didn't need all of that to be amazing, and maybe it was because he knew, watching him onstage, that he was so fucking out of his league it wasn't even funny anymore. And .. deep down, he knew that's what people thought he was. That dancing person onstage, the one that would go with anyone who gave him the slightest bit of attention.
God, he was just a wreck right now. Danny nearly scoffed at himself, shaking his head and pushing a hand through his fringe as he lightly got to his feet. It was time he went home. His friends weren't anywhere to be found and with the way he felt right now, he doubted his dad could make it worse. Maybe it would even help. A slap to the face, a kick in the stomach, something that made him feel right again. Something that helped him remember where he belonged, what his reality was, so in the future he wouldn't do something as stupid as going to a party and watching the guy he had a crush on (hoping, wishing, wanting). What was the point? He'd gone there, made himself miserable by looking at Alex who would never even know his name (unless it was 'that guy who sleeps with half the school', which sometimes seemed to be his name), and no matter how hard he'd tried he hadn't been able to escape the world he needed to head back to.
Flitting through the crowd, he managed to make his way to the patio doors, one last look at the stage showing him that Alex was still enjoying his performance - and so was half the room, people smarter, funnier, prettier, better than him. Danny swallowed something down, before opening the doors and stumbling outside, making it only as far as the lawn chairs before he needed to sit down and take a moment, so he wouldn't end up crying as he left.

Give me a reason...+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ The lyrics of the song dripped from his glossed lips like liquid ecstasy. The atmosphere grew as hyped up as it grew sensual. As Alex danced to the beat of a break in the song, he encouraged his audience to do the same. The dance floor was soon filled with dirty dancing. Guy with girls. Girls with girls. Guys with guys. It seemed that it didn’t matter with whom they got this experience, but getting it was the goal. The room’s temperature sky-rocketed as Alex hit the next verse of the song. “It turns me on when I'm your pupil - you're my teacher teacher,” he breathed, dropping down low and earning many gulps of excitement. “Get in position. That's my mission on the floor tonight.” Alex slid to his knees, throwing his head back and placing his left hand on the table for support. So this is what it feels like to be a performer… he though. Mother, how am I doing for my first solo act?
When Alex dared to look back up, he noticed a familiar mop of blonde hair move through the crowd. This boy was the one and only Danny, the only boy that Alex watched from a distance. Why? He wasn’t sure if the younger blonde would look his way twice. How come? Alex was… weird, as he liked to describe himself. The Prince of Abnormality. Many guys have thought of Alex to be their little bit of fun just because he was different, not afraid to completely be himself in front of everyone. Admittedly, Alex had concealed himself in the shadows to watch Danny practice is dancing. He failed at dancing… but Danny? The younger boy was a newborn deus in motion. Alex couldn’t tear his hazel gaze off of the boy. Even though everyone called Danny the ‘school slut’, Alex wouldn’t believe any of the hollow gossip, he couldn’t help his crush on the sophomore. Sure, Alex had his fair share of crushes in the school, but the only one he felt that he had a chance with was Danny Bailey.
Where is he going? Alex wondered, standing back up. “The way that you perform the clothes are torn right off the richter. Shakin' the room again. Untaming the beast within,” he continued, his gaze following Danny as the boy made is way out of the room. Even though he had relinquished his soul to the music, his heart trembled at seeing Danny leave. He had hoped that the sophomore would be there tonight. He hoped it even more when he was ‘chosen’ to sing, praying that his lyrics would attract the boy. Upon switching songs, he attempted to try a more sensual, if not sexual, approach. After all, he was not sure what the other would like. Danny… His next few lyrics drowned out as his movement drew to a halt. Looking down at the mic in his hands, the crowd grew quiet, a soft murmur buzzing amongst them. “I’m sorry everyone. DJ, please take over,” Alex apologised, tossing the mic to Jesse, leaving everyone bewildered.
The blonde pushed his way through the crowd, ripping free of the clutches that clawed at him, begging for him to stay and have some fun. Damn these people, he thought. “Let me through! Danny… DANNY!!” With a few more shoves here and there, Alex successfully broke himself off from the crowd, sprinting though the patio doors and to the lawn where he saw the boy sitting on one of the chairs. Approaching him slowly, he dared to breathe his name. “Danny…?” +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+SONG REFERENCE: "Under My Skin" by Sarah Connor

(what I need is only what you'll give me) Sitting outside, Danny breathed in the fresh air, filling his lungs with it to replace the stale smoke-filled air he'd been inhaling indoors. Already he felt a bit better, though he was still out of sorts with everything. Why had he been so close to crying? Why had seeing Alex perform onstage unnerved him so? Danny honestly couldn't tell, or if he could, it touched upon things he didn't want to think or talk about. Instead he just sat there for a while, hearing the song continue on inside, feeling the urge to stick his fingers in his ears, though he resisted because he didn't like being snuck up on. His father did it sometimes, but usually he was drunk and Danny would hear him before something could happen. Of course, being 5'6, being prepared didn't mean nothing would happen.
Sighing deeply, the blonde was about to stand up and leave the party when someone called out his name. It sounded familiar, but not, so he turned around to look at the boy. Alex. His voice sounds different when it's not through a microphone, he thought idly, his grey eyes taking in the slightly flushed blonde before they skittered away - mustn't be caught looking. "Um. Hi?" It sounded questioning, like Danny had no idea who he was (when his brain was going AlexAlexAlex) or why he'd come up to him - and at least the latter was true.
Taking in another breath of fresh air, he nearly choked on it and started coughing, but instead managed to swallow it down as his eyes scanned the background - grass, lawn chairs, pool, motherfucking expensive house - all things seeming mute and faded in comparison to the boy standing in his line of sight. "You were good out there" He offered, wanting to say something but not knowing what else to say. How did Alex even know his name?

Give me a reason...+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Alex stood silent for a few moments. The cool, night air burned his chest as he breathed in deeply. It would seem that he was exposed to the smoke-dominated, alcohol-stained atmosphere of the indoor ground floor for too long. He took a quick glance over his clothes, not wanting to make an awful ‘first’ impression. Dusting a patch of cigarette ashes off of his jeans, his gaze was fixated on the young boy in front of him. He sure is beautiful… the blonde thought. Now, ‘beautiful’ isn’t exactly the word that most guys would like to be described with, but it seemed to suit Danny perfectly. Everything in the garden seemed dull in comparison to the boy. Even the moon would be jealous of you, for you render the moonlight to but a pale, dim lamp, he thought. Realizing that he had been staring, he quickly whipped his gaze away from Danny’s figure, a slight blush tinting his cheeks.
The blonde wiped his black bangs out of his face, being careful not to smudge his makeup. He was always so careful when it came to his face, not to mention his piercings. He has had his multiple piercings in his ears for a good few years now, except his industrial bar. That he’s only had that one for the passed two years. Now, the silver metal gleamed in the moonlight. Alex smiled at the younger boy, finding his bafflement cute. “Hi,” he replied casually. Alex scanned Danny up and down, taking in every detail of his face, his hair, his clothes… What could he say? The boy was beautiful and he could take his eyes off of him. “Sorry! Artist’s habit,” came his normal excuse for gazing so intently.
Lifting his right hand and rubbing the back of his, Alex blushed a deep red, giggling. It was the first time that he had anything like he had done tonight and the ultimate compliment came from the boy he was crushing on. Talk about an ego-booster. Maybe I should perform more often, he laughed mentally. “Admittedly, I am an amateur when it comes to performing. Even though I love putting on a good show, it’s not really me, if you get what I mean,” he fumbled. Dear God, this boy through his train of thought right off of its tracks. “But…” He approached Danny, a slender hand reaching out to be placed on the younger one’s shoulder. Alex’s smile turned into a slight frown, eyes shimmering with concern. “Are you alright, Danny? I saw you run out while I was performing.”

(what I need is only what you'll give me) The way Alex was staring at him made him feel slightly uncomfortable, the boy lowering his grey eyes to the ground as he fidgeted with his sleeve. He knew those looks. He got them from boys and girls that saw him as an easy target. He got them from the kids that thought they could get an easy snog from him, then discarded him when they were done. He even saw that look in his fathers eyes sometimes, or one eerily similar to it. It made him feel like a piece of meat sometimes, and he wondered if his father just wanted to hit him or if the man was dangerously close to doing something else.
So he just nodded when Alex mentioned it was an artists habit, trying to shrug it off as he listened to the blondes other words. He wasn't quite sure what he meant by performing not really being him, it had certainly looked like he was as comfortable onstage and in the spotlight as a fish in water. But maybe it was different, maybe singing was more like acting than dancing was. Danny was always vulnerable when he danced, putting every last bit of his heart and soul into it, escaping to a world where things were simpler for a while.
"I didn't think you'd notice" He mumbled softly as Alex said he'd seen him walk out. "I didn't think you even knew who I was" Because why would Alex know his name? Unless .. unless he just knew of him because of all the rumors. Which was probably what it was. Alex seemed sweet now, but was it just a way to get him in bed? "I'm fine" He hastily amended, looking up for a moment with a sweet smile, one that didn't entirely reach his eyes, but then he didn't really meet Alex's eyes either.

Give me a reason...+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ The frown that plastered itself on Alex’s face only grew deeper at sensing the younger’s discomfort. The lowering of the other’s gaze… Restlessness… He’s not completely ok with this, Alex calculated. He had an unnerving gaze. He knew he had an unnerving gaze, but it was something that he tried and failed to change, or even lighten. Being highly observant was programmed into his way of thinking and memorizing. After all, he was a visual person. Most of the time he was grateful for it, but it was moments like this that he damned this ‘gift’ to burn in the black flames of Hell. Alex might be a predator by his shifter form’s nature, but he never intentionally looked at anyone as if they were something to eat, literally or figuratively. Even though he could put on a good show and step out his skin in an instant, he was too much of a sensitive person to take advantage of someone.
Talk to me, Danny. Don’t just nod. I want you to be open with me, he pleaded mentally. How he wished to the heaven that he could say it out loud to the boy in front of him, but he knew better. He let his hand slip from Danny’s shoulder to rub his upper arm, offering a slight smile. “How could I not notice?” he chirped as his touch grew gentler. “I’ve noticed you for a very long time.” It was as he said this that he mentally kicked himself. No, no, NO!! I didn’t mean it like that!! he scolded himself. That was definitely the WRONG thing to say. Way to go Alex. Now he’s going to think that you’re some creepy stalker that’s only after his body. At this realization, he removed his hand and led it to the back of his neck as he laughed awkwardly. “I mean, you’re quite the dancer,” he said. At this, his face grew flushed in a bright red blush. SHIT!! I wasn’t supposed to say that either!! Alex, you suck at chatting people up.
Yes, this one was thing that Alex was not at all too good at. He might be talented at flirting, but not when he was the one starting the conversation. Not to mention that he was talking to someone that he really, really liked. He looked down and away to avoid Danny’s gaze at all costs. Who wouldn’t do that after feeling the heat of embarrassment reach the tips of their ears? “I-I was just worried about you…” he admitted in a low voice.

(what I need is only what you'll give me) "I've noticed you for a very long time." What now? "I mean, you're quite the dancer." Danny blinked, his eyes suddenly curious as they looked up at Alex, seeing him blushing and almost stuttering through his sentence, like he hadn't quite meant to say what he just said. "You've seen me dance?" He asked, more to confirm that he hadn't just dreamed up this conversation, but that Alex had actually said those words. Now it was his hand that went to the back of his neck too, rubbing at it with a soft 'heh' sound escaping his lips. Danny hadn't danced for anyone after his mother had passed away the night he had a performance, nearly a year ago now. He'd loved dancing for people before, but hadn't been able to bring himself to face a crowd, knowing his mother would never be in the audience anymore.
"That's .. thank you." He could hardly say he minded that Alex had watched him, since he had done the same to the blonde, watching him sing and perform and even just sit down with his guitar. There had been peace radiating from the boy then, so unlike the jittery state they both seemed to be in now. Danny wondered if Alex would be watching next time he danced, and if it would be awkward since he'd know he was there, and if he should maybe invite the boy to his next practise. But why should he do that? Even if Alex had seen him dance, that didn't mean anything.
Chewing on his bottom lip, he couldn't stop them from quirking up into somewhat of a smile as he saw the way Alex tried to avoid looking at him. It was .. cute, sort of. It made him defrost slightly, his stance a bit more relaxed, not like he could run away any second now. "I'm fine" He repeated, softer and less defensive this time. "I just .. parties aren't really my thing. The alcohol and everyone just trying to look for someone to sleep with.." He shrugged a shoulder. No matter what the school thought, he wasn't the boy that would go to parties just to find someone to spend the night with.

Give me a reason...+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ This was quite the predicament that Alex found himself in. He swore to himself to never ever let Danny find out this little secret of his. How he’d skip classes to watch Danny practice, or how he’d cancel his tutoring sessions to watch him practice alone in the gymnasium. It was those day that made Alex feel truly human, to feel emotion developing in his heart. The younger blonde’s movements made his heart skip a few beats, made his breath hitch in his throat. He’d often sit, tucked away in the shadows, with his music book, trying to create a melody to Danny’s routines. To date, he had created mostly violin pieces, but had borrowed his mother’s old classical guitar in order to create a bit of variety. How he wished to share these melodies with the boy that entered his thoughts ever so often during the day, and at times, his dreams at night.
“Yes, I’ve seen you dance,” Alex answered honestly. “Not even the classic phrase ‘poetry in motion’ could describe the way you dance.” He dared to glance up at Danny, seeing the boy almost imitate his motion. Such a beautiful soul, he thought. So innocent. I cannot understand why such filthy rumours are spread about him. Alex had never paid attention to any of the rumours at school. He preferred acquiring knowledge on a first hand basis. Every time someone spoke about Danny in a negative way, he could feel his blood boil as his hands curled into fists. There was a time that his emotions got the better of him and caused him to partially shift (thank goodness it happened within the school grounds). Hearing Danny thank him made his laugh huskily. “It is I who should be thanking you. You give me a reason to write music,” he said, winking playfully. I might as well be completely open with him at this rate.
Alex couldn’t help but think of Danny’s current expression as being anything else but absolutely adorable. He hooked his thumb into the right pocket of his jeans and rested his bulk of his weight on one leg, trying to be slightly more casual. “Well, if there’s ever anything bothering you, you can always talk to me about it,” he offered. A smile crossed his lips upon hearing that parties weren’t quite Danny’s deal. “I’m not a fan of parties either. Always avoided them at all costs,” Alex commented, his gaze on the sophomore once again. “Just the scent of alcohol gives me a headache. And well, the fact that most people are looking for an easy one night stand is quite sickening.” He had always hated the term ‘casual sex’, and the fact that he was still a virgin caused him to blush and giggle to himself. “Not that I’d go looking for something like that. I’m embarrassingly inexperienced in that field.”

(what I need is only what you'll give me) He was giving so many compliments that Danny could barely stop blushing, his fingers trembling slightly as he moved them through his hair, a silly motion to give himself something to do. "Really?" Was the only clever response he could come up with when Alex said he had been inspired to write music because of his dance. He could scarcely believe it - and part of him wondered if the boy was saying it just to get him in bed - but the playful wink made him blush again, his head bowed for a moment before he looked back up, in time to see the other shift his weight, adopting a more relaxed stance. It was silly, how that made him relax a bit more, the fact that someone he was talking with seemed to ease into the conversation making it easier to breathe and stop fidgeting.
Hearing that Alex was embarrassingly inexperienced was a surprise, his eyes widening slightly. He was so .. so - well, handsome. But, he quickly berated himself, looks didn't mean people got around. You couldn't judge someone you hardly knew, that was exactly what people did with him. Nodding dumbly for a moment, he glanced around, the sounds from the party muted behind them. "Me too" Danny said softly, scratching at his neck again before dropping his hand. "I mean, people think I'm all-" He stopped then, not wanting to give Alex ideas what the rumors were in case he didn't think like that.
"I mean" He started again, "I'm not like that, you know? It's fine if people are, but I'm more of a .. relationship guy, I guess?" Though not really, at the same time. He had never been in a relationship and he honestly wasn't sure if he could handle one, with what was going on at home. "And drunk people just get annoying" Danny never drank. Sure, he'd had something to drink in his past, before his mother had died, but after she had passed away and his father had become an addict? He'd seen the ugly side of alcohol and didn't even take one sip, no matter how much people wanted to pressure him into it.

Give me a reason...+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ In the back of his mind, a little (irritating) voice urged Alex to stop complimenting the poor boy in such a sudden manner. Not at Alex was considering listening to it this time. The only time he did was when he could see the conversation ending in a series of kisses and touches, and then nothing more. Not a friendship, not a relationship. Nothing. Danny deserves to be complimented, he thought. Especially after all the crap that people say about him. He was already so defensive towards the boy, and the gossiping voices within the school only made Alex want to protect him all the more. He had pondered why he felt this way night after night after night. Conclusion? He felt something for Danny, something that he wanted to mature. Alex was defensive by nature, but never this defensive to a common person.
The smile that played on Alex’s lips settled at the sight of Danny’s blushing. If there’s one thing that he couldn’t resist was making someone who was already cute in his books even cuter by making them blush. Though, if Danny were to become any cuter than he was now, Alex wouldn’t be able to control himself. His hazel eyes followed the movement of the younger blonde’s fingertips through his hair. He bit his bottom lip slightly. His movement flows like water, even when doing something so small… he thought. “Yes, really,” Alex answered. The sheets of music that he had written were all packed neatly in a silver box that he kept on his windowsill. There were days when his floor, bed and walls were covered in music sheets as he attempted to write pieces that matched Danny’s movement. “Perhaps I could play something that I have written for you sometime, if you’d like me to,” came the offer that he had been dying inside to make.
Seeing Danny’s eyes widen slightly made Alex quirk up an eyebrow. Danny was honestly… surprised by the fact that he had not yet lost his innocence? Many of Alex’s friends knew that he was still a virgin. Heck, his entire grade knew that he was. He was often labeled as ‘the chaste loner’. People often assumed that because he was always sitting by himself was because he was trying to not draw attention to himself, and therefore ‘save himself’ for someone special. But what everyone failed to realize was that just because Alex was still a virgin didn’t mean that he was a beginner to other acts of play.
"I mean, people think I'm all-" Hearing this made Alex’s heart stop for a second. It was now that he couldn’t control himself. He swiftly closed the distance between himself and the younger male, his gaze holding Danny’s. He lifted a hand to brush the topside along Danny’s cheek. “I know what people think, what people say,” he whispered, a seriousness staining his voice. “It pains me… that rumours like that are spread about you.” His fingertips traced along Danny’s jawline, finding themselves rest under his chin. God, if you’re really there, please forgive me… It was then that Alex closed the space between them, placing a feather-light kiss on the younger blonde’s lips.

(what I need is only what you'll give me) "I'd like that" Danny murmured softly, that faint blush still on his cheeks. He couldn't really believe that Alex, the Alex Gray that he'd been watching since right after last Christmas break, had been noticing him. Had been watching him dance and had become inspired by him. It was insane. It was such a crazy idea that for a second or so Danny couldn't help but wonder if Alex was jerking him around, playing a joke on him. Sweettalking him so he could get what he wanted. He knew that he was cynical when it came to love, knew he'd only seen the ugly sides of it, but what else was he supposed to think? In his world people just didn't stop mid-performance to run after a guy they hardly knew, wanting to comfort him but not asking for anything in return. Danny desperately wanted to think the best of Alex though, wanted to keep believing that he was just a nice guy, that maybe for once he had found someone who would take care of him just because he wanted to.
But then Alex was suddenly so close to him and kissed him, and in the silence that came when his heart had stopped beating, he could almost hear it shatter. So much for that then. So much for someone who just wanted to take care of him. Had he even heard what Danny had said about being a relationship kind of guy? Or was everything he said just a backdrop for what he'd wanted to do? Sure, his words were sweet, but were they real? Were they honest, or was he just saying those things because he thought he could get into his pants that way? Was Alex really a virgin? Or did he think playing the innocent card would make Danny trust him?
So many questions, and all in all the kiss hadn't lasted longer than a second or two, but when they broke apart - it might have been Alex moving away, it might have been Danny taking a step back - they were all visible in his eyes for a moment, before he shut down right in front of him, all walls going back up. "Maybe the rumors are true" He said somewhat coldly, his voice calm despite the mixed feelings raging through him. "Maybe they gave me that nickname for a reason." He was almost challenging Alex to contradict him, though really he knew that the boy couldn't. After all, he'd just done what everyone did, ignoring everything he said and kissing him.

Give me a reason...+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ “Love is an emotion created by God hat is meant to be shared. Relationships are the bonds that God offers to us on the condition that we share the emotion of love.” Those were the words that his mother told him when his best friend left him, forever. It was painful to say the least, but those words were wise. A true relationship was something that Alex had always dreamt about, from the day of his first crush when he was thirteen, right up until this very day where he’d toss and turn in his bed at night with tears dripping on to his pillow. It wasn’t something that he liked to talk about, not even to his mother. He often wished that he had an older brother or sister, or even an adult friend to talk to about such troublesome thoughts. He felt so lost…
But right now, Alex damned himself to Hell for what he had done. After enquiring the name of ‘the dancer in the gymnasium’ from another friend, he was determined to find out more about him. However, is finding weren’t what he expected: all these rumours about Danny. The rumours that called him the infamous school slut, that he didn’t care whether the feeling came from a girl or guy, that he had slept with anyone and everyone that he could get his tainted hands on. Alex knew that this couldn’t possibly be true, and that getting close to Danny and earning his trust could be a tricky task. But that didn’t stop him from wanting it, from desiring to protect this fragile soul born of a society’s branding.
Dear God, what have I done…? WHAT HAVE I DONE?! came his shrieked thoughts, causing him to take a few steps back. "Maybe the rumors are true". No… No dammit!! Don’t say things like that!! Alex’s hazel eyes widened in panic, in shock, as his hand flew to his own mouth, covering it, trying to mask his expression. He didn’t want to believe the words that Danny spoke. Somehow he just knew that Danny was trying to push him away. That’s gotta be it… Maybe I just scared him a bit… But then came the younger blonde’s next sentence: "Maybe they gave me that nickname for a reason." At this, Alex looked away from his crush, shaking his head violently so that his black bangs meshed its strands in the blonde-dyed bulk of his head. “You’re lying…”
He looked back up at the sophomore with a certain fierceness in his eyes, the kind of fierceness that was displayed by his shifter form. The familiar hazel of his eye colour melted away and was replaced by the liquid shimmering golden colour of the Eurasian lynx. “Danny…” he whispered. “I know that the rumours don’t at all define the real you.” His voice radiated confidence as he took a step forward, an outstretched hand brushing against the younger’s wrist. “I’m not here to get you into my bed, nor to use you as I please at this party. I want to be closer to you. But giving me the opportunity… well, that’s for you to decide.”
