He licked his lips nervously as he slowly pushed his way into the dormitories. He wasn’t supposed to be here and he knew he wasn’t supposed to be here. Everyone that gave him a second glance knew… He wasn’t supposed to be here. But no one bothered him and he didn’t want to be bothered. For all he knew, they thought he was sneaking in to see his girlfriend – whoever that may be. He didn’t doubt that other boys had done it before. He wasn’t the first and he was sure he wouldn’t be the last. But, still… He walked slowly, gingerly climbing to the second floor as if the stairs would buckle beneath him and send him tumbling down. This wasn’t the Canyon others knew him as. Often times so sure and confident… He was scared. He didn’t know if he was ready for this but he just couldn’t wait any longer.
Canyon turned down the sophomore’s hallway, peeking up at the dorm numbers as he passed. 200, 201, 202… He could feel his heart hammering in his chest now. This hallway held so many memories for him and now they were just part of the history of this building. But they will forever be a part of the present. Yes, Canyon has heard the rumors about how a certain room on this floor was supposedly haunted. How her room was supposedly haunted… He found it ridiculous, honestly. What did people think? That this was a joke? It was sick… This was the truth. It happened. This hallway will be forever scarred and stained and, and, and… 206, 207, 208 Oh god, he wasn’t sure he could do this anymore. But he… He had to see. It was as if seeing would help him believe that she… she was gone and she wasn’t coming back. 212… 213…
His light eyes gazed at the door to room 213. That was all he seemed he could do. God, he probably looked like, like, like… some kind of creeper or stalker but he… He didn’t care. He never cared. He was fine in his own little world. Mechanically, he started to back up until his back met the smooth wall on the other side of the hall. He couldn’t take his eyes off the door, even as he slid down the surface and sat on the floor in front of it. Beside him was the girls’ bathroom where the incident had really taken place but… But this room was all he was interested in.
“I miss you…” it was a quiet sigh. He wasn’t even aware he had said it allowed. All he knew was he wanted to talk to someone… To anyone…
He wanted to talk to her.

*can't stay at home, can't stay at school. old folks say, ya poor little fool ! DOWN THE STREET I'M THE GIRL NEXT DOOR. I'M THE FOX YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR Wasn't life hard enough for a teenage girl? You know, hard enough without having to deal with....other teenage girls. I mean sure Codi was one, but that didn't mean she wanted to deal with them all the time. Some many of them were waaay too girly and into themselves for her taste. I mean there was having confidence and then being completely conceited. Her roommate in particular was seriously pissing her off. As if the bitch walked on water. Really. She wasn't God, but of course no one seemed to have bothered to tell her that lately. So once again, there a mind numbing confrontation in room 209. This was seriously getting old and the school year wasn't even close to halfway over yet. It was times like these that made Codi question why on earth she was into girls. Sure that wasn't quite fair. Boys could be just as into themselves as girls could, she supposed. It didn't matter. It wasn't as if she ever intended on to date her roommate. That was just sick.
Practically foaming at the mouth, Codi figured she had better remove herself from the situation at hand before she maimed the girl. An accidental swiping with her claws was all it would take for the girl to go down. No need to get in trouble over the idiot. She had enough behavioral problems on her record and she didn't need another blip on it. Besides, she was supposed to be working on her anger issues, not pursuing them. So instead of staying and taking off the girl's head, she flipped her the bird and walked out into the hallway. She slammed her door behind her and slammed her closed her eyes and slammed the back of her head lightly on the door. *One deep breath. Two. Three. Four* she felt herself calming down and reopened her eyes at the slightest sound on a male voice.
Diagonally across from her and a few doors down she saw Canyon Pierce sitting on the floor against the wall. They were friendly enough with each other. He was senior to her sophomore and they were both in Photography club together. He was nice. A bit self-righteous at times, but nice all the same. He looked like he needed to talk. He was just staring across at room 213. Ahh, the old haunted room. What could he be looking at that for? She walked over and slid down onto the floor next to him.
"Waiting for someone to come out or....." she asked, leaving the question unfinished. * hello daddy, hello mom, i'm your ch ch ch ch ch cherry bomb ! , HELLO WORLD I'M YOUR WILD GIRL, I'M YOUR CH CH CH CH CH CHERRY BOMB tagged , canyon! outfit , outfit!words ,. lyrics , cherry bomb by the runaways. status , finished. notes , hello.

He heard the door slam but made no attempts to get up and leave. Whoever it was could get over his presence if they saw him. He wasn’t done here. Not yet. But he knew if he stayed any longer, something seriously wrong was going to happen. At least if he remained alone. He didn’t feel like crying. Not today and not here. He wasn’t ashamed of crying and he never cared if someone saw. He just… didn’t want to. He has cried enough over this particular issue. He just wanted to feel numb about it now. He wanted to feel… like December felt before she went over the edge.
She had once told him that she did what she did to feel… something. Anything. And it had broken his heart because that was the moment he realized that no matter what he did, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t make her happy. “Are you happy now…?” He was still unaware that he was speaking allowed. But that was all he wanted. For her to be happy. Even if it meant he was alone. Did she intend for this to happen? Did she think he had plenty of friends that would make the piece of his heart she took to her grave regenerate itself? Because she was horribly wrong. Or… Or was she positive he wouldn’t have made it? Did she think she’d be embracing him on the other side? Either way, the thought made his heart hurt even more.
The sound of a voice snapped him from his thoughts. Canyon tilted his head and looked up at the familiar face of Codi. Blinking, he took in her appearance… How long has she been there? How long as he been here? Slowly, a small smile twitched at the corners of his lips and he shook his head. He wasn’t waiting for anyone… At least not someone that could walk out of that room unless this was all some horrible joke.
“Nah, not waiting just…” his gaze drifted back to the door of the room, the smile fading from his lips. Has she heard the rumors? He had no doubt unless she ignored everything she heard. “Thinking,” he finished with a sigh after a moment. “Were you the one that slammed the door? What happened?” So easily he could take the attention away from himself.

*can't stay at home, can't stay at school. old folks say, ya poor little fool ! DOWN THE STREET I'M THE GIRL NEXT DOOR. I'M THE FOX YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR Canyon was talking, but Codi was pretty sure he wasn't talking to her. Something about the door seemed to fascinate him. She looked at the number. *213*. Aahhh so that was it. Infamous room 213. She'd heard about it of course. Who hadn't after all. A girl, the name escaped her at the moment, who had lived there the year before had committed suicide. Of course, she hadn't done it in the room, she'd done it in the bathroom across the hall. Funny how no one seemed to think the actual place where she died was haunted. She hadn't known the girl personally, but from what she had heard, the girl had been quite depressed. Wasn't that a given when it came to committing suicide though? It had been for her mother.
Had he known the girl? Did he know the ones who lived there now? She was going to ask, but for once she picked up on the social cues of the situation. If he wanted to talk about it, he probably would say more later. Instead, it seemed that they would be talking about her for a bit. "Yes that was me offending your ears with my door. Sorry. It's just my roommate. Major bitch. I swear I don't understand how I got stuck with her. My karma must suck. We got into it...again." she picked at a fuzz ball on her black Hello Kitty slipper and then one on her pink one. She shook her head and again smacked it lightly against the wall. "Girls. Ridiculous they are. Your present company excluded of course," she said referring to herself. "I may be the only sane one left." * hello daddy, hello mom, i'm your ch ch ch ch ch cherry bomb ! , HELLO WORLD I'M YOUR WILD GIRL, I'M YOUR CH CH CH CH CH CHERRY BOMB tagged , canyon! outfit , outfit!words ,. lyrics , cherry bomb by the runaways. status , finished. notes , hello.

It was obvious Canyon wasn’t comfortable with curse words the moment she uttered the word. Bitch. It didn’t even sound pretty. No wonder the term that formally meant a female dog had somehow become a foul word meaning.. Unfriendly individual. However, despite his dislike of the words, he wouldn’t ask Codi to refrain from using them. It was her life and her choice. Asides from the occasional slip of a disrespectful word and the temper issue, Codi was actually a decent person to talk to. At least that’s what Canyon thought. And her company at the moment was appreciated. He almost didn’t want her to leave.
Which lead him to act like a complete fool – something he did often. “Nuh-uh, girlfriend!” He snapped his fingers in a z-formation, trying to act like he had the least bit of an attitude. But, quickly, the act slipped and he chuckled before patting the ground beside him. Sitting on the floor wasn’t exactly… the best thing in the world but Canyon didn’t feel like getting up. “Oh, of course. You’re the only sweetie pie left,” the smile that graced his lips came a bit more naturally now that his previous thoughts had faded to the back of his mind. “Tell me, Miss Hello Kitty,” Canyon couldn’t help but to reach forward and pat the kitten head atop the closest slipper to him, “What’d she do this time?”
His gaze moved back to her as he stretched his legs out in front of him. With hands folding in his lap, he crossed his legs and tipped his head back to rest against the wall. “You know there are ways to get some good karma going.” Of course Canyon would know. With a pure heart, he always did his best to help the people around him. Though, if he had such good karma, he probably wouldn’t have gotten cancer or lost a friend to suicide, anyway.

Paige was quite casually making her way to her dorm, when the sound caught her attention. The ferocious slam of a door. Now she was intrigued. She wasn't about to admit it, but she did enjoy a bit of drama to make life interesting. Her curiosity pulled herself down towards dorm 213, which was near enough to where the source of this slam was. 213... that three digit-number sent chills down the backs of many students. Paige didn't believe in ghosts; she really wasn't a fan of superstition. She thought it was pointless and it could turn people into paranoid lunatics. An opinion she dared not voice, just like her controversial views about religion, but an opinion she certainly harbored. But the room number only stood out to Paige because of the sad, sad thing that occurred there. Ghosts, superstition? Blech.
She saw two people standing around the dorms. When she walked close enough to be in earshot, she heard the boy talking about 'good karma'. She recognized him from her running. Canyon Pierce... yes? They hadn't exactly met properly, but he seemed like a decent person from afar. Although she honestly couldn't fathom why he was in the girls' dormitories. It seemed odd. Her attention drew to the other girl, the supposed door-slammer. Codi. She recognized Codi and their paths had crossed more than once. She liked Codi, they were similar in many ways and she admired her for being so open about her bisexuality. Paige was still very sealed up about her sexual orientation. For such an extroverted, loud girl - she was very scared about her secret getting out. She felt like it would be a big deal. She didn't want to lose her friends and her reputation.
Paige's approach wasn't abrupt or sudden, she sort of slinked her way into the conversation. Like a cat. Like a viper. Like anything-but-a-dhole. Sometimes she wondered why it was a dhole inside her. She didn't find herself relating to the dhole very easily, but that was just her opinion of herself. An outside eye would have recognized her very canine-like features, her loyalty, her quickness to judge and her general outgoingness and immaturity. 'Hello,' said Paige before diving straight to the point. 'Heard a door slam. What's going on, then? She spoke in quite a chilled tone of voice. She wasn't wide awake right now, a little tired from the combination of hard work and lack of sleep but quite frankly she did not care. Right now she was just curious about what happened to make Codi angry, if Codi was the one who got angry.

*can't stay at home, can't stay at school. old folks say, ya poor little fool ! DOWN THE STREET I'M THE GIRL NEXT DOOR. I'M THE FOX YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR Codi couldn't help but laugh at Canyon's act. As mad as she may have been at her roommate, she definitely let it go, even if it was only for a moment. She actually laughed for quite awhile. She laughed for long enough that she saw Paige Roberts coming towards her and Canoyon. SHe liked Paige. Not only was the girl extremely cute, she was basically the exact same person as Codi. She was loud, funny, waaay into music. It was like looking in the mirror. Well, sort of. She waited until the girl was within earshot. No doubt she had heard the door slamming and would want o know what was going on. Sure enough, the girl was doing just that. Codi wondered if everyone had heard her door. It wasn't as if she cared if she'd disturbed someone. Slamming the door had made her feel better.
Codi smiled up at Paige and patted the spot next to her. "Well now that I have an audience, I can tell the story. Basically, I walked out of the room to take a shower right. Well, my roommate's boyfriend was here. Snuck in as usual. When I got back, not only were they hooking up, they were doing it on my freaking bed! Like seriously disgusting. I'm going to have to burn those sheets now. She's lucky I didn't do more than slam the door and cuss her out. I would have ripped that pretty little blonde hair off of her head." she was getting a bit upset all over again. "He's still in there. I swear to God if I go back in and they're at it again, I will maim them both and then claim temporary insanity." She looked over at Canyon, "I'm sure my karma is beyond repair these days." * hello daddy, hello mom, i'm your ch ch ch ch ch cherry bomb ! , HELLO WORLD I'M YOUR WILD GIRL, I'M YOUR CH CH CH CH CH CHERRY BOMB tagged , canyon! outfit , outfit!words ,. lyrics , cherry bomb by the runaways. status , finished. notes , hello.

Canyon chuckled as he watched Codi laugh and laugh at his act. He could have easily passed as a gay guy, but he didn’t really give a damn. He thought it was fun and couldn’t help the impulses. As long as it helped a friend smile, it was okay. Though, as she started to calm down again, footsteps spiked Canyon’s curiosity. His gaze jumped to the girl walking towards them, and that fiery hair was unmistakable. It was Paige… Paige Roberts? He had seen her running before. Sometimes he’d run to but hasn’t managed to run at the same time as her yet. That should probably change. He needs a running body.
As she grew closer, he smiled that friendly smile of his – as if he belonged in the girls’ dormitories. As if he weren’t here to talk to his dead exgirlfriend. He seemed perfectly natural and at ease sat against the wall near the girl’s bathroom. “Hey!” his greeting was rather chipper but as Paige continued, he noted the cold tone and pursed his lips in puzzlement. She was angry about something. He knew that much. Though, whatever it was escaped him. He just didn’t want to cross a line with her and that thought made him vaguely wonder if people with fiery hair had a fiery personality. He couldn’t help the little grin that stretched across his mouth from that idea.
His light eyes flickered to Codi again as she dived into her story of what exactly her roommate did. Quite frankly, it made his jaw drop. Now, he was guilty of sneaking in for a little something but never… ever on the roommate’s bed. “Codi, what did you do to deserve so much… bad juju?” Canyon shook his head and pressed his lips into a thin line. “You know, he started. The idea he had was a pretty bad one but he was always willing to help a friend: “If you give me your roomies name, I can barge in there for you and get that guy out. I should be in drama with out amazing at acting I am.” A proud grin manifested on his mouth and he puffed out his chest. It would be easy. All he had to do was go into the room and act as if he was supposed to meet the roommate. Act as if she was cheating on him.
But that would probably bring some bad juju down on himself.

Canyon voiced a friendly greeting when Paige approached, which she appreciated very much. Canyon was a nice guy. From just that small "Hey!", she gained a lot of respect for him. Maybe she was a little quick to trust at times, but some people just had a nice vibe about them. It was something that if you tried to explain to anybody, they'd think you're crazy, but they secretly know what you're talking about. She smiled in a friendly way at Canyon to regard his greeting, but her eyes weren't smiling as well. She was so. Tired. She was surprised she could actually keep them open. It probably showed, but at the moment she didn't have the capacity to care about it. She felt quite comfortable around Canyon and Codi and didn't have the urge to prove herself or to make herself look impressive in some way. Just talking and listening.
Codi explained her situation. Paige wrinkled her nose in a way that was quite childish. She expressed the contempt without hesitation, if her roommate had the nerve to do that on her bed, she would flip her lid. It seemed that Codi was pretty pissed as well. Rip that pretty little blonde hair off her head. Was it sadistic that that made her smile? Did it really matter, anyhow? Codi had the best way of describing what was happening and expressing her frustration. It was probably inappropriate of Paige to be thinking this at this time, but the girl was sweet when she was angry. Her little vent was over, now, and she made a remark about karma to Canyon. Karma. Paige really wasn't sure what she thought of it. When Canyon asked Codi about what she could have done to get so much "bad juju", as he worded it, she grew even more unsure.
Some things she just didn't like to wonder about. They either confused her or made her angry, or she just didn't know what to think at all. But for the conversation's sake, she went along with the idea that karma was real. That was pushed far to the back of her mind; the very least of her concerns, though, when Canyon proposed an idea of his. It was absolutely crazy. To go in and interrupt the pleasure of this rude couple? Kick 'em out of there, show them who's in charge? The idea made her heart beat at a quicker pace with this sort of excitement. An anticipation. It was a bit of a risky idea, but Paige wasn't going to pause to consider the consequences. She wasn't like that. 'Woah-ho-ho, you'd do that?' was all she said at first. If this was some sort of joke or just a half-serious suggestion, she probably shouldn't be getting her hopes up for some sort of exciting incident. 'It's proper dreadful of them to do that, Codi, that'd really put them in their place. Wouldn't you agree?'
