Backpacks could be useful, even outside of school. That was something that the anatomy professor had been forced to learn today. Of course, the white backpack that was slung over his shoulder wasn't full of textbooks and sheets of paper, just the opposite. His backpack was full of plastic. To be specific, condoms. Tons and tons of them, all stuffed into the largest pocket of the three-pocket backpack. Now, that might have sounded weird, but it really wasn't. Being a health teacher, condoms were a necessity. Kids could play with them, you could hand them out as prizes, and hell, the professor had even taken to throwing them at his students when he got bored, or if one of them had been particularly disruptive. Oh, and of course he knew which of the students resembled him. Said students found condoms thrown at their heads all the time, even when Oliver saw them in the hallways. And by 'like him'... well, guess. What could you need condoms thrown at your head for? Other than the fact that they made amazing projectiles. Spotting one of his least favorite students by the fountain, he slowly took his backpack off, balancing it on his knee and removing one of the packaged purple tubes. Yes, it was purple. They also came in neon green, yellow, orange, and pink. Oliver really liked the pink ones.
He held the thing loosely in his hand for a moment, then chucked it at the kid's head with a short flick of his wrist. After a few months of doing it, he had become quite good with his aim. The small plastic package bounced off the boy's head, causing him to look in the direction it had came from. Oliver waved happily, shrugging the backpack onto his shoulders again and turning in the opposite direction. He had more things to buy, after all. The trip to the mall hadn't just been to restock on his condom supply and torment his students; Oliver had more of a life than that, but as he looked around the giant room, he found that in fact, everything on his little list was done. He had bought condoms, annoyed a student, gotten lunch, and... well, there was really nothing else. So maybe Oliver didn't have that much of a life after all. He ran his fingers through his hair, staring at nothing in particular as he wondered what to do next.
He could go buy some music to blast at his students, or go get some larger things to chuck at them. Now that he thought about it, most of his life was centered around the school. It annoyed him how he really didn't have much to do that wasn't centered around the idiots people called students. He needed to get out and do something. Do someone, for that matter...

As much as Tatsuya Matsumara claimed to hate ‘humanity and its stupidity,’ the headmaster of Sabal Palm Private High School wasn’t a hermit by any means at all. Yes, he absolutely hated to be around people because they were supposedly moronic. Anything that could be wrong with a person was in Tatsu’s eyes. However, he loved the attention he received more than he hated the people that gave it to him. For a few hours, Tatsu could grit his teeth and bare the world around him. More often than now, the headmaster could be found at a bar or a club within the city. Drinking always made everything so much easier, didn’t it? It loosened the muscles and, unfortunately… so much more. How many times has Tatsuya woken up in someone else’s bed? It hadn’t been too many times, he was sure. There was just one… particular occasion frequenting his thoughts at the moment.
Oliver Ken Toulson. That man certainly was a piece of work, wasn’t he? Once upon a time in a not so far away land, Tatsuya might have loved him. But, unlike the fairy tales parents promise their kids, this love story wasn’t as happy and there definitely was not a happy ending. And all of that had been in Tatsuya’s past until he decided to hire Oliver as a staff member at his school. He figured the school was big enough to avoid the other. It wasn’t like Tatsu was very big. He was a tiny, little, Asian man. He mostly stayed holed up in his office unless it was lunchtime or he was bored out of his skull (he enjoyed toying with the staff members then). And normally no one could be found in the staff lounge during the lunch shift. Image Tatsu’s surprise when his ex-lover appeared out of thin air. Oliver hadn’t changed much; though, Tatsuya certainly has. He was forced to hurt the man twice in one period. But that certainly didn’t stop him from leaving Tatsu with a hug and a rather gay, little hand wave.
Luckily, Tatsuya hasn’t seen the man since. He is planning to keep it that way, too. Which was one of the main reasons he had decided against going to the bar tonight. Instead, Tatsuya realized that he was running low on pants that fit him correctly. He was so short, the legs were usually too long. Which was why the headmaster found himself at the mall that afternoon. He didn’t frequent the place often. Not alone, anyway. It just wasn’t a task he enjoyed doing. And that left him unfamiliar with the mall’s layout. With a quiet sigh and a longing for a cigarette, the petit man made his way to the mall’s map that stood just a few dozen yards away from the large double doors. The map reached well above Tatsu’s head and he had to crane his neck back to skim through the list of store names at the top. Mmm… Which one should he try first?

Oliver had never been sure why the headmaster hired him. They hadn't exactly left each other on good terms, after all. For a while, the anatomy professor had become paranoid. Did Tatsuya want to murder him? He wouldn't put it past the snake; hadn't he burned most of Oliver's possessions when he left? Of course, Oliver couldn't blame him. Their relationship hadn't exactly been a fairy tale. In fact, it belonged in a nightmare. The mongoose hadn't been all that loving towards Tatsuya way back then. He had been territorial, controlling, and downright mean. Looking back on it, Oliver was still kind of surprised that their unhappy love life had actually lasted that long, especially since it had all started when a drunk Tatsuya ended up in bed with a not-so-drunk Oliver. Maybe it was because they were both shifters. Oliver didn't even remember how they had found that out about eachother, but it had been like superglue for him. Back then, he had been pretty new to the states, and pretty alone in his habit of turning into an animal. Whatever it was, Tatsuya had broken up with him after years upon years of a relationship, and it had left him heartbroken for the second time in his pathetic little life.
He didn't understand why he was thinking about this all of a sudden. It wasn't like the man was anywhere near, right? But maybe his subconscious had picked up something that he hadn't, because as he turned around to look at the map, there was the snake. Even after all these years, Oliver still had a bit of a soft spot for the guy. Okay, more than a bit. He stood there for a moment, debating on whether to be all sneaky or just go up and hug the the headmaster. He purred to himself, grabbing another condom from his backpack and chucking it at the man's head. They really were good projectiles. He took a few steps forward, wrapping Tatsuya in a bear hug. He had already sort of revealed his presence by the whole condom throwing thing, after all. Well, and he just kind of wanted to embarrass the man in public. It was fun, and Oliver was a performer, in an odd way. No, he didn't sing or dance or anything that people these days considered performing, but he liked an audience. Liked making silly hand gestures and eccentric sayings and watching people watch him. So, even though Tatsuya was probably getting uncomfortable, Oliver was enjoying the stares that the hug was getting.
”Tatsuya,” he purred, letting the man out of his grasp and watching him for a moment, wondering if he was going to get hurt again. In was a public place, so probably not, but you never knew with this guy. ”What were you looking for? Can I help?” Oliver normally wasn't helpful. In fact, he tended to stay away from other people's problems, but around Tatsuya... well... it was as if Oliver's purpose in life was to make him happy and annoy the hell out of him at the same time.

The first thought that flashed across Tatsuya’s mind when he felt the gentle thump of something smacking into the back of his head was what kind of immature idiot would do something so stupid? His curiosity as to what it was that exactly hit him spiked soon after that and his dark gaze dropped to the ground around him. At first he didn’t see anything. The short man had to turn around in a small circle before a square of color against the white tile caught his attention. Was that… a condom? His brows furrowed as he bent down to pick it up. Who the hell would throw something like this at him? The only idea the snake had was some kid that found this amusing. He couldn’t believe some people.
At least he got a free condom out of the incident.
The man stood straight again and looked around just in case his attacker was still near. He wasn’t exactly sure who it could have been but he had a faint idea as he noticed a familiar face making his way toward Tatsuya. Oliver. Would the anatomy instructor at Sabal Palm really do something as immature as this? He didn’t want to believe so but after his last run in with the mongoose, he was starting to have little doubts. I have to go clean up condoms. Tatsuya thought that was what Oliver had said… Did he have to clean them up because he threw them around like a moron? It was moments like these that Tatsuya couldn’t believe he had been with someone like him. Had he always been this way?
What came next didn’t exactly surprise him. He didn’t exactly expect it, either. Tatsuya thought that the hug the man had given him before leaving the teacher’s lounge was going to be the last he would ever receive from Oliver – which he was content with. However, he also never expected the mongoose to throw a condom at him. He thought he knew him so well yet he was still just as full of surprises as ever. Tatsuya neither rejected nor accepted the hug given to him. His arms remained tight at his sides and he just blinked in response to the affection of it. Despite the fact that he couldn’t even peek over Oliver’s shoulder, he knew people were watching. It wasn’t often a man hugged another, smaller, man in public as far as Tatsuya was aware. He didn’t mind, anyway. Tatsuya was a man that enjoyed attention, after all.
The snake stepped back once Oliver let him go, his back pressed against the towering map. No, he didn’t enjoy being backed into a wall like this. At least not with Oliver. Once upon a time, there was a moment of possible danger that sent a thrilled-raised shiver up Tatsuya’s spine when he was forced into a vulnerable position. For all he knew, he might still find that enticing thrill arousing but now was not one of those times.
“Oliver,” Tatsuya breathed a greeting, tilting his head to look up at the blonde man, “I’m looking for a decent clothes shop.” His gaze dropped again and he turned his head to glance at the map behind him as he pocketed the condom. He knew Oliver had thrown it but he didn’t exactly care anymore at the moment.

Now, here was an interesting situation that Oliver had gotten himself sucked into. Seeing his ex lover for the third time in, what, two years? The man was such a... what? The professor simply couldn't come up with a word to describe Tatsuya, so he borrowed one from his students. ”Attention whore...” he murmured as he released the man, eyes scanning the map absently. He should probably get some more dog food, too, otherwise his mutt would starve. Oliver wouldn't mind if he ran away or died, but he wasn't about to torture a defenseless animal by not giving him food. He wasn't that much of a sadist... well, not around animals, at least. In his past relationship with the man standing next to him, maybe he had been a bit of a sadist... more than a bit, maybe? Whatever. That was in the past, wasn't it? He didn't have to worry about it now, seeing as any unwanted advances would probably get him fired in the blink of an eye. However, he couldn't stop himself from absently petting the smaller man's hair as he looked for the pet shop. Tatsuya was cute, like a puppy or something. A puppy with a venomous bite, but... still adorable.
He watched as the snake pocketed the condom Oliver had thrown. Well, that was interesting... was it for sentimental value or just to use later? Oliver didn't know if Tatsuya had any other lovers or not, but knowing the man, he was going to assume that he didn't. The man didn't really seem like the loving type, nor did he seem like the kind of person that would enter a relationship just for the bed benefits, like Oliver would. In fact, Oliver was starting to doubt that their past relationship had been real. Was it just a figment of some sick dream of his? After all, he couldn't see this new Tatsu-Matsu and himself blending well. They were like oil and water these days, but he wasn't sure which was which; who was the substance that everyone needed to live and who was the one that rich people adored, yet at the same time was being used as a weapon to kill the earth.
”Running out of clothes, Tatsy?” he asked playfully. ”Jeans getting too small? That's the new style, you know.” Yeah, like either man would keep up with the trends. Even Oliver found them annoying these days, and he was assuming Tatsuya felt something along those lines. Well, maybe his previous lover just ignored them, like he did with so many things. Then again, maybe Tatsuya did keep up with the recent styles. Though it didn't seem like him, Oliver didn't really know what to expect from this guy anymore... ”There're a few men's clothes shops up on the second floor... or would you prefer a girl's one?” He wasn't trying to make fun of Tatsuya by the question, even though it may have seemed that way. Okay, it probably seemed that way; there was no maybe to it. Oliver knew that a lot of men these days wore female's clothing, especially if they had a build like Tatsuya did. He knew a lot of students that did it, and a few teachers, too. So it had been an innocent question, even if it seemed otherwise. Really... this man just brought out the worst in him. Or was it the best? Oliver couldn't tell anymore...

Silently, Tatsuya wondered how long Oliver would be in his presence. He wasn’t in the mood to deal with his… oh, what’s the word… shit. The head master was vertically challenged, not deaf. He had heard what his former lover had called him and he found it just the tiniest bit insulting even if he knew that it was entirely true. It just didn’t matter to him. He demanded respect and if he received it, he may just return it; though, that was never a promise, was it? But the comment was nothing new from Oliver. He had received much worse when he was with the man standing oh so very close to him at the moment. And, still, he took the insult with a set jaw and silent voice. There was no need wasting words on him for something so petty.
But, alas. Oliver just had to keep going. The comment about his clothes becoming too small didn’t bother him at all. It was the remark about girl’s clothing. Yes, he realized he was small and could possibly fit into a pair of jeans fit for a girl but that didn’t mean he wanted to hear about it. He was a man and he preferred to wear men’s clothing even if it was extremely difficult to find anything that fit him right. Honestly, Tatsuya would probably just end up getting close tailor-made for him. The only real reason he was here was because he had nothing better to do. He felt like bothering dear, sweet Cyan but he assumed the man was busy with papers that needed to be graded. Tatsuya had already planned to visit the Japanese instructor after he grew bored of the mall.
“Oliver, have you ever seen me wear girl’s clothes?” the question was innocent and held none of the venom that he had thought about it in, “I prefer men’s clothing, thank you.” And to the second floor he must go. With a quiet sigh, Tatsuya turned away from the map and glanced around for stairs that would lead him up to the second floor. Vaguely, he wondered if his puppy would follow. He didn’t doubt it. He might as well try to enjoy the company instead of wishing it to be over. That would just make it all the more intolerable. As long as Oliver refrained from being more annoying than he usually is, everything should run smoothly. Tatsuya would hate to be arrested for aggravated assault after shoving the taller man down the stairs.
Though, if he remembered correctly, Oliver wasn’t that easy to push around. Oh, he shouldn’t make it a challenge for himself.
“Is there somewhere you need to be?” he mused softly as he headed toward the stairs. While he didn’t doubt Oliver was going to follow him, he wasn’t one hundred percent sure he was going to either. If Oliver didn’t follow him, great. If he did, Tatsuya could at least come off as… polite? Was that the word?

Sometimes, Oliver wondered why his shift was what it was. He was more like a dog sometimes, really… especially around this man. It annoyed him a bit, how he acted so… vulnerable around Tatsuya. Or maybe childish was a better word? He laid himself out in front of this man, and no matter how hard he tried to forget about his feelings and play the game, he just couldn’t. What was with that? Sighing, the anatomy professor shook his head. ”No, dear, I haven’t seen you wear girl’s clothing,” he said, not bothering to argue with the smaller man. Maybe there had been a day when he would have smirked and made a sarcastic and perverted comment, but he just didn’t want to right now. He wasn’t in the mood for it. He was having a bad day, and, frankly, Tatsuya was the only thing making it better. Once Oliver realized that, a sarcastic comment was in order. After all, this was the guy that broke up with him… why would Oliver be happy to be around him? ”But you’d look good in them, you know,” he purred, following Tatsuya. It was odd, the need to be around the smaller man. It was a combination of love and hate that made him stick like a leech, and, of course, the need for physical contact. Not that Tatsuya would ever willingly touch him, but Oliver still found it nice to pet the man and watch him get annoyed. He grinned at the thought. Once upon a time, it would have been a bad idea for Tatsuya to turn his back on Oliver. Nowadays, it wasn’t so dangerous, though it still risked some comments.
The mongoose stopped on the stairs for a moment as his phone vibrated. He normally didn’t carry it around with him, but he had been getting a lot of calls lately. International ones, to be specific… Sighing once more, Oliver took the phone out of his back pocket, read the caller id, and held it still for a moment until it went to voicemail. His ex wife left the same message every time, and he had only responded once. His lips spoke in harmony with the familiar words, though no noise came out as he stood there. Ashby is sick, would you take some time out of your schedule to come see him in London? No, Oliver couldn’t. Didn’t his ex wife understand how fucking hard it was to find a substitute for a shifter school? No, of course she didn’t; she didn’t even know that Oliver was a shifter in the first place. Didn’t know that her precious son might show signs of being one later in his life. Well, whatever. Let the kid be sick, he could send a get well card or something. He hadn’t seen the little monster in a few years, and he wasn’t about to take time out of his life to go across the water to visit him. Visits were restricted to summers, that rule had been set up as soon as Oliver had moved to Florida, and he wasn’t about to break it now.
Dark blue eyes snapped up as Tatsuya spoke, looking irritated for a moment before relaxing. Right, his ex lover didn’t know about Oliver’s dear family. Maybe he had mentioned Ashby once or twice when he was drunk, but Oliver didn’t think that he had ever explained that he had a son and an ex wife. How would Tatsuya react to that, anyway? It was pretty hard to surprise the man, after all. ”In your bed?” he asked tauntingly, suddenly needing a distraction from his life. But Tatsuya probably wanted a serious answer. "Obviously, I’m going to help you find some pants, then to the pet shop and the post office,” he said lightly, tucking his phone back into his pocket. ”Don’t bother objecting, you know I’ll come anyway.”

Tatsuya was very aware of the following puppy. He was starting to expect as much from Oliver. It seemed that since their break-up, he and Oliver had switched positions. Yes, Oliver still held a slight upper hand with the headmaster but slowly, Tatsuya was starting to claw his way to the top of the food chain. The comments Oliver threw at him – whether about clothing or the lack there of – no longer made him flustered. Not even in the slightest. Tatsuya didn’t have to worry about turning his back on the man behind him because he knew nothing would happen. Oliver was the one slipping up in the game. At least for the moment, it seemed. Tatsuya was familiar with the tricks Oliver had up his sleeve but if the man had developed anything new, he would be taken aback. And though Tatsuya could expect one thing or another and was confident that he could evade them, there still was no telling what could happen. Though that never deterred Tatsuya away from the notion that he had everything completely under control.
All he had to do was think of Cyan.
Tatsuya wasn’t exactly sure what kind of clothing Oliver meant when he said ‘girl’s clothing.’ It honestly was a broad term and the only thing Tatsuya could think of to counter it was, “Don’t be silly, dear, I haven’t the legs for such outfits,” there was a quick pause before the man decided to turn this around on Oliver with a devious smirk evident in his voice, “You, however, do.” Which was total bullshit. Oliver did not have the legs, let alone the body, to be in girl’s clothing. Tatsuya, on the other hand, did and it was obvious. Compared to Oliver, he was a slender, little thing. Though, Cyan seemed to be even more so… The thought was quick and disappeared just as soon as it had appeared but Tatsuya couldn’t help to wonder… what would Cyan look like in girl’s clothing? Mmm… The headmaster would have to keep that thought to himself, he was sure.
The petit man didn’t notice as Oliver stopped and he continued on up the stairs. Frankly, he didn’t give a damn if Oliver stuck around or not and he was positive Oliver was very aware of that. He was also positive that Oliver was mainly sticking around just to annoy the fuck out of him. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t done it before. The man did enjoy pushing the Asian’s buttons, didn’t he? If he pushed hard enough, he might even snap at the other in Japanese. Wouldn’t Oliver enjoy such a reaction? The anatomy instructor did so love to make people squirm. Tatsuya would have to keep his anger in check. If Oliver wanted something of him, he would have to work harder this go around.
He tilted his honey colored head to glance over his shoulder at Oliver at the comment about his bed. “You mean your bed, correct?” There was no way in hell Oliver was snaking his way into Tatsuya’s house again let alone the king’s bed. The man was very careful about who he allowed into his space. He was oddly sentimental like that. He wouldn’t let anyone in if he didn’t think they were going to be staying in his life long. Now, once upon a time, Oliver had been allowed into this sacred area. Not so much anymore.

Oliver most certainly didn’t have the legs for girl’s clothing, but it was the perfect opportunity to tease the smaller man. ”Oh my. Have you been paying attention to my legs, dearest Tatsuya?” He knew that the other man hadn’t, but it was still fun to tease him about it. Oliver was guessing that in fact, the headmaster despised him. Who wouldn’t? Oliver Toulson was annoying at the best of times and clingy at his worst, especially around Tatsuya, and nobody seemed to like him. He didn’t mind that, though. Even if people didn’t like him, he could still flirt. ”But if you think I’d look good in girl’s clothing, perhaps you could help me pick some out. I could wear it to class, maybe? It would certainly scare the students…” Scaring the students was fun, it truly was. A pastime that Oliver enjoyed immensely, even though most other teachers wouldn’t approve.
Oliver would probably look odd in girl’s clothing. He just didn’t have the build for it. Though he was short for his age, he was still much taller than Tatsuya, and not very slender. That being said, he wasn’t at all fat, but he just couldn’t pull off most of the styles that females were prancing around in these days. Hell, he could barely manage the skinny jeans look (though let it be said that he still looked pretty sexy in them). If his Tatsu-Matsu wanted him to wear girl’s clothes, he would do it, no matter how bad he looked in them. He wasn’t about to get on his knees and beg like he had once made Tatsuya do, but yes, the roles were beginning to switch.
Oliver’s control was slipping, and he didn’t like it. He desperately needed to prove to Tatsuya that he was still in control, yet some part of his mind knew that he really wasn’t. But even if he wasn’t in control, he wouldn’t let Tatsuya take the throne either. He wouldn’t beg for this man, ever, though it left him feeling almost like a third wheel. Smirking slightly, he bounded up a few steps to catch up with the smaller man, noticing that if he stayed a few steps down, they were at eye level. How interesting… and a nice situation to experiment. Oliver had always looked down on Tatsuya, or, in some cases, had him on his lap. So Oliver found it fun to pull the shorter man into another hug when they were relatively the same height. ”Yeah, my bed, sure,” he purred into the man’s ear. Well, if they were pretty much the same height, it was also much easier for Tatsuya to seriously hurt Oliver. Maybe the professor wasn’t exactly paying attention to that as he spoke teasingly, practically asking to be pushed down the stairs. ”Hm, Tatsuya? For old times sake… how about a bit of begging for me to let you go?”

Oh, what a pity. Tatsuya’s attempt at making Oliver squirm much like the elder used to do to him failed. What a disappointment that was, but Tatsuya would get over it. Just because his comment hadn’t raised the best reaction out of Oliver didn’t mean the smaller man was out of the game. It was just beginning, in fact. There was much more remarks and tricks stored up Tatsuya’s cuffed sleeve and they were just waiting to spring out at the perfect moment. Tatsuya would have to be patient, though, and play the game better than he had last time. The snake was no longer a pawn of Oliver’s; that much was obvious. Now he just had to start molding the other into what Tatsuya had once been. It was a dangerous and sadomasochistic game they had shared. It was hard to tell when too far was too far but that had never deterred them away from the thrill before.
This time Tatsuya would be careful. He will not fall into Oliver’s trap again.
The headmaster rolled his eyes as he listened to Oliver. Why on Earth would he take Oliver shopping? The notion itself was ridiculous but adding in the variable that they would be shopping for girl’s clothing… It was already obvious there was no way in hell he was going to allow that. “As… interesting as that sounds, Oli-kun, I think I will have to pass on such… an event.” It took a moment for Tatsuya to find the right words. Still, his English wasn’t exactly the best and his thick accent made him a little hard to understand but, luckily, that didn’t stop him from getting his current job. It wasn’t like he was completely impossible to decipher. “Scare the students? More likely scar them,” his added comment was just above a mumble, and it was more to himself than it was to Oliver. Still he spoke loud enough so the other would be able to hear him. It was rude to leave him out of the conversation, after all. And despite Tatsuya’s wicked and… douche-esque behavior, he did his best to not come off as rude occasionally.
Still, Oliver managed to surprise him. Tatsu thought he was done with this but he couldn’t help the quiet gasp and the widening of his almond-shaped eyes as he was suddenly pulled into an embrace he… obviously didn’t want to be in. It was an awkward hug. Tatsu’s arms were pinned to his side and since he was a step or two above Oliver, their faces were level. For a brief second, Tatsuya pondered the thought of just giving him an awkward shove but the outcomes didn’t seem to be that pleasing. At best, Oliver would tumble down a few steps, hop back up, and then force Tatsu into an even more awkward and embarrassing predicament somewhere in the near future. At worst, Oliver breaks his neck or manages to drag Tatsu down the stairs with him like he had managed to do when Tatsuya shoved him off the couch in the teacher’s lounge. While Tatsuya didn’t enjoy being in the man’s presence, he didn’t want to kill him either. Were the consequences worth the second or two of relief? He wasn’t sure…
But the man was trying to get him to beg… Something Tatsuya swore he would never do for Oliver again. Begging for Cyan was different than it was for Oliver. He wasn’t sure what it was but when it was with Cyan… he didn’t feel as low. But with Oliver, every second of it was degrading. Tatsuya did it for Cyan because it was hot, it was sexy, it was erotic. And even if it was all those things with Oliver, it was also the mongoose establishing his dominance over the snake. It was the king forcing his jester to bow at his feet.
“Let me go.” His voice was hard and no where near what Oliver was wanting. Instead of pleading to be let go, Tatsuya was demanding it.

Were they damned to this endless circle forever? Oliver showing his affection for Tatsuya the only way he knew how and Tatsuya getting annoyed because of it? ”Tatsuya, I would never scar your darling students. You should know that.” After all, it was only the smaller man that Oliver was out to hurt. With other people, he may have been an uncaring ass, but he never hurt anyone. He tried to get into their pants, but backed off if they refused to let him in. He wasn’t a monster, no matter how much he may have seemed like one. It was just… Tatsuya’s fault. It wasn’t Oliver’s fault that the younger man was so irresistible. He was showing his love the only way he knew how. Maybe long ago, he had been as sweet as a child, but he was scarred in so many ways now, emotionally and physically. The side of him that wasn’t well known showed when he was drunk, sure, but never any other times. When Oliver had too much to drink, he was like a child. He depended on others and cried easily. Tatsuya had seen that side of him a few times, but then again, he had also seen Oliver being manipulative, sadistic, and angry. The few times that he had been sweet weren’t enough to cancel out the horrible reputation that he probably had in the other man’s mind. Sometimes he felt bad for that, but it was rare. So he comforted himself by saying that Tatsuya brought it on himself. He wasn’t exactly surprised that Tatsuya wasn’t begging for him. After all, it had been the younger man himself that had broken off the relationship, which was probably what had caused their positions to shift. Though, Oliver wasn’t exactly upset that the smaller man wasn’t doing what he told him to do. Who would expect him to? Oliver wasn’t that stupid, but even if he had begged, Oliver hadn’t been planning on letting him go. Tatsuya was cute and warm and Oliver needed that like a drug. He wasn’t addicted to the man himself, but rather, physical contact. It was something that had been pounded into him during his marriage, and it still lingered. He sighed, nuzzling Tatsuya’s neck. He had an odd feeling that he was going to get hurt if he didn’t let the younger man go, but he didn’t care. His knee still had the cigarette burn from the last time he had seen Tatsuya, and his nose and the area around one of his eyes was bruised from Ian hitting him. He was used to being rejected in violent ways, seeing as he never listened to the verbal warnings to back off. He was silent for a moment, still, then spoke suddenly. ”What if I don’t want to let you go, Tatsuya? What would you do about it?” The question wasn’t a challenge; Oliver was honestly asking what Tatsuya planned to do about being wrapped in Oliver’s arms. ”Would you push me down the stairs? I might be killed and you would have that on your conscience and legal record. Just ask nicely for me to let you go. I promise I will…” Well, probably. It wasn’t like Tatsuya was going to ask anyway. Oliver stiffened slightly, ready to be hit or something along those lines.

Asking… was better than begging to be let go like Oliver wanted. It was also cleaner than splattering his brains or breaking his neck across the steps in a violent shove. Tatsuya wasn’t a monster. The idea of taking a life scared him. It was the only reason Tatsuya wasn’t pushing Oliver away at the moment. If they weren’t anywhere near a flight of stairs, the headmaster would have pushed the other away without a second thought. But that wasn’t the case and he was positive Oliver was enjoying this. Tatsuya should have expected something like this from him. Now he remembered why he never turned his back on the man. He was always waiting to strike; looking for the perfect moment to pin Tatsu against him like this. And in such a public place, too. Tatsuya normally didn’t mind expressing his affection for someone in a public place; though, that was because he was always establishing that the person he was with was his and no one else could have him. Was that one of the many motives behind Oliver? Was he trying to establish a sort of territorial dominance over the smaller man? Too bad the one that Oliver probably thought needed to see wasn’t here. Dear, Cy-chan, what would you do if you saw something like this? Undoubfully, it would be amusing. Unfortunately, Tatsu had other things to worry about.
Like figuring out how he was going to snake his way out of this and keep Oliver from attempting something like it again. He might as well give Oliver a little dose of what he wanted to hold him over. However, if he wanted more, what would keep Oliver from attacking him again with a hug? Or something worse? If Tatsuya gave in now, what would stop Oliver from thinking that he wouldn’t give in again later? At the moment, Tatsuya didn’t really have too much of a choice…
He exhaled quietly and tilted his face closer to Oliver’s. A softness overcame his features and his voice dropped to a gentle whisper. “Oliver, will you please let me go?” That was as much as he was getting. Tatsuya’s not going to beg as much as he used to. There will be no pleading in his voice or a submissive glint in his eyes. Oliver did not control him did he? and Tatsuya was going to make that very clear.

Were they damned to this endless circ- … wait, Oliver had already thought that. This really was an odd case of déjà vu; the sinking feeling in Oliver’s stomach was telling him that quite clearly. Or was the feeling fear? Maybe the anatomy professor was afraid that Tatsuya was going to push him down the stairs without a second thought, ignore him as his head cracked open and he died? Last time he checked, the headmaster had had a sense of right and wrong, but was it still there? Oliver honestly couldn’t say… which, really, scared him to death. The fact that he was scared of the shorter man just terrified him even more, though. Oliver had never been truly afraid of Tatsuya, not once, and this was… unnerving. It just didn’t feel right for the puppeteer to be worrying that the puppet was going to turn on him. It felt dirty, like they were both doing something that they shouldn’t be doing, but only for Oliver. After all, Tatsuya was finally getting what he had wanted since the break up, wasn’t he? Their positions had switched, and no matter how much Oliver was denying it, wasn’t that what Tatsuya wanted? So it was only Oliver that was unhappy about the current situation, though Tatsuya may not have liked the details. Like the hug. Tatsu-Matsu was most certainly not enjoying the hug; even Oliver could see that.
Of course, the local Floridian shoppers could see that, too, and the pair was getting some pretty odd looks. If they had been alone, maybe Oliver would have taken it further just to annoy Tatsuya, but for now, the headmaster was saved by the small crowd of people the was gathering. Not that Oliver would have done anything too bad, but… yeah. Oliver let go of the shorter man, grinning and trailing the back of his fingers against Tatsuya’s jaw. ”… I remember when you really begged,” he said quietly, so nobody but Tatsuya could hear him. ”Those were the better days… and now this is the best you can do. It really… makes me sad, you know?” Back in the good days, when his Tatsuya had been a good little snake… not so much anymore. Oliver sighed, taking his hand away from the smaller man’s face and loping up a few steps. ”You coming? We still need to get you some new clothes, right?”

Tatsuya did not like to think about the time he spent with Oliver. Yes, he would occasionally reflect on a moment or two when he simply had nothing better to do but, otherwise, he did his best not to think about it. It was a weak moment in his life, as he has realized, he wanted to put it as far behind him as he could. Tatsuya wasn’t worried about falling into old habits nor was he ashamed of what he did. He knew full and well what was going on. He had a certain level of tolerance to withstand everything that was going on. But that and love can only take you so far. There was a breaking point and, damn it, Oliver just had to cross it, didn’t he? He had to keep pushing and prodding and poking at all the emotional buttons until he finally pressed the wrong button and everything blew up. If he still wanted his ‘Tatsu-Matsu,’ he shouldn’t have gone so far.
With a sigh, Tatsuya reached up and gently swatted the other’s hand away from his face. “Deal with it,” his voice was quiet but there was still a sternness to it as he replied to Oliver’s woes over the man’s lack of begging, “It is your fault after all.” And it was. Tatsuya might still be with him if it weren’t for Oliver’s shit. Then again, he might not be. The headmaster had wanted a fellow coworker since the day they applied for the position of the Japanese teacher. First physically and now…? The simple thought that Tatsuya could go down and see the instructor whenever he wanted pleased him.
Oliver could be sad all he wanted. Frankly, Tatsuya didn’t give a shit. He rarely ever did now and he wondered if Oliver has realized that yet or not. The elder man probably did – especially after Tatsuya had pushed him off the couch a few days ago. Really, the snake wasn’t that cold blooded. He knew right from wrong and did feel guilt. In fact, it was the one thing keeping Oliver from bouncing down the stairs like a slinky.
For a moment, Tatsu could only watch Oliver continue on with out him. It would be so easy for him to just turn around, leave the mall, and go back to his little apartment in Azalea Park… But he really needed those pants. Chewing on his lower lip, the pryo of a headmaster slowly followed Oliver up the stairs.

Of course Oliver would deal with it, what was the alternative? Tatsuya wasn't going to submit to him ever again; that much was clear to see. So for now and ever, the mongoose could just take pleasure from being in the snake's pretense and annoying him as much as he could. His reactions to the professor's taunts were the closest thing that the headmaster would come to begging, and hey, there were some things that were still the same, weren't there? Tatsuya still burned him when he got annoyed, and though that couldn't be called positive encouragement, Oliver still liked that there was one similarity between their past and their present relationship. However distant the two might be these days, there was still a relationship between the two of them. It was a relationship full of dislike, teasing, and generally things on the opposite of the spectrum from love, but... they had never really been in love, had they? Actually, now that Oliver was thinking about it, his current relationship with Tatsuya was closer to love than the previous one. How... odd.
”I understand that it's my fault, Tatsuya,” he said calmly, not stopping his ascent of the staircase. Oh, he understood it just fine. How many times had Tatsuya told him that it was his fault? Well... only two, but Oliver got the message. He knew that he had been controlling, that he had pushed too many buttons and made Tatsuya beg too many times. Yes, he understood the reason behind their separation just fine, but did that deter him from pushing more buttons? Of course it didn't. ”But it's your fault, too, you know? For being so... adorable.” he said the last word with a smirk that Tatsuya wouldn't be able to see, as his back was turned to the smaller man. ”Because of that, I think we need to buy you something pink.” It was a joke, but like always, it was hard to tell. Though, the fact that it was accompanied with laughter may have given it away. It may have been an odd sight, to see the British man laughing and chattering away while the smaller headmaster followed him like a sullen child, but Oliver didn't care what the public thought.
As Tatsuya reached the top of the stairs, Oliver grabbed his arm, grinning like the Hatter. Or was the Cheshire Cat a better comparison? ”C'mon, let's go get you some cute clothes. And then we can go out for icecream or something to celebrate you getting out of your apartment for once!” As this was said, the mongoose was practically dragging Tatsuya into the nearest shop, not paying attention to any protests the smaller man may have been making.
