Blossom Durant had came to two conclusions by the end of the first Drama club meeting: the first being that there were few teachers willing to put up with freshmen – the drama instructor included. The second was that she should have decided against the flats when she was getting ready for school that morning. Yes, the flats were cute – at least that’s what she thought – but they lacked something that is very important to a girl as clumsy as she is: they had no traction. Walking on smooth surfaces was already a little difficult for poor, little Blossom but the fact that her shoes refused to stick and instead opted to slide if her weight wasn’t placed just perfectly made walking a very dangerous sport. All day she might as well have been walking on eggshells. Luckily, she only slipped twice that day. Once was going up stairs and if she hadn’t been clinging to the rail as if her life depended on it, she probably would have face planted the death traps. The second time had been right before the drama club meeting as she was walking across the stage to the auditorium – which turns out to be a lot harder to walk on than the tiles of the hallways. She may have been left with a perpetual but faint blush on her cheeks, flustered, and embarrassed but she survived the day, and that was all that mattered. The concrete sidewalks should offer a bit more traction for her but she decided to wait for mostly everyone else to clear out before attempting to even get up off the stage floor just in case she were to make a fool of herself. Again.
She chewed on the inside of her lip nervously as she watched everyone else leave the auditorium slowly. Since this was basically the drama department’s territory, the club meetings were held on the massive stage. Today wasn’t exactly that productive but since it was the first meeting, no one really expected it to be. A majority of the time was spent just getting to know each member of the club. They were supposed to introduce themselves, explain why they wanted to be part of the club – a lot of wanna-be actors and actresses were here, of course – and then talk a little about themselves, including mentioning their shift. Blossom wasn’t sure if what she did was considered talking. Aside from a lot of ‘uhm’s and ‘erm’s, she mostly just stuttered. She was a really shy girl but her reason for wanting to be in drama was legit: she doesn’t want to be shy anymore. And she was hoping this club was her first step in the right direction of breaking out of her shell. It was lonely on the inside. She was always so nervous and afraid of what everyone thought and that didn’t change when she was trying to introduce herself as B-Blossom D-Durant… the… the, uhm, fainting goat. That left her a little heart broken. She honestly thought this could help her. Perhaps she just needed a little time.
She sighed. It was time she should go. Not so many people were left behind so it should be safe to leave now. Carefully, she picked herself up and off the floor. With gentle hands, she brushed whatever dirt there may be from her outfit and picked up her bag. With the strap clinging to one shoulder, she made her way to the stairs so she could safely get off the stage. But… Just as she was about to reach them, her foot slipped and she yelped in surprise. She caught herself on her hands and knees like she had just before the meeting but it never really took the sting out of the fall. She supposed it was better than landing face first… She just whimpered and glanced around quickly. Blossom leaned back up so she was sitting on her knees. Did anyone see that…?

There were certain things that Jamie thought were really adorable in this world. One of those things just happened to be really shy girls. Not just any shy girls. The kind of shy girls that blushed when they had to stand up in front of a whole group of complete strangers and introduce themselves. The kind of shy girl that struggled to find the words to speak. Blossom Durant was one of those kinds of shy girls. Jamie felt bad for her as he watched her stammer out her brief introduction. It was obvious that she was not comfortable in front of a lot of watchful eyes. Why did she want to join the drama club? He simply smiled at her attempt and locked it away inside of his fleeting (he has a bad one!) memory.
When it was his turn to get up and speak Jamie had absolutely no qualms. Jamie stood up and jutted one of his hips to side with a small grin as he spoke. He was completely comfortable with all eyes on him. He was a small time model outside of school. He had to be comfortable or how else would he make it in the cruel fashion world? "My name is Jamie McAllister and I shift into a peacock." Yeah, a peacock. It really sucked. He felt like it was one of the most stereotypical things ever. It was like karma was trying to pull a fast one on him. A cruel joke. It was as if to say 'yeah, you're going to want to dress like a girl so we'll give you a really really flamboyant bird to change into!'. There were a few giggles but Jamie ignored them. Who cares if they laughed.
Once his turn was over he sat down and went through most of the rest of the meeting without providing a whole lot of input or private information. He simply wanted to sit back and observe people the first meeting and get to know which people might give him a hard time and which ones would be cool about things in his direction.
After the meeting ended Jamie got up and quietly gathered his things. He slowly made his way down from the stage and walked up through the rows of seating towards the back exit. He had to go drop off a few books at his locker before he was able to go home. Jamie's hand was just about to reach for the back door when he heard a small thud coming from the stage. He paused and looked behind him to see the cute little shy Asian girl (he'd already forgotten her name, his memory was that terrible) on her hands and knees. Since it was obvious that she had fallen Jamie turned and quickly made his way back to the stage. He dropped his books gently and reached a hand down to her.
"Are you alright?" Jamie had to smile at her. The poor thing looked so embarrassed even though he was sure that no one else had seen her take the spill.

Today just wasn’t her day. She decided that a while ago, but this third little spill just proved it. It looked like trouble did come in threes, after all. Quietly, she rubbed her hands together in a vain hope that it would rid them of the dull sting throbbing in her palms. Perhaps if she remained silent, no one would notice her. They would have no reason to, right? Already being a freshman practically made her invisible. She just had to remind herself of that. No one cared about the freshmen.
At least that’s what she thought up until someone appeared by her side and a hand was offered to help her up. Her almond-shaped eyes widened just a little as she stared at the hand for a moment. Slowly, her gaze followed the limb up to the face of… Jamie, right? She was pretty sure that was Jamie. And she was pretty sure she looked like an idiot just staring up at him. Quickly, her gaze dropped back to the ground and a faint blush claimed her cheeks. G-Great, not only did she make a fool of herself by barely being able to walk but now she looked like a completely incompetent moron. He (she?) had asked her a question and offered to help her but all she did was stare up at him in surprise.
“O-oh,” she stammered and took their hand, “I’m sorry.” Her voice was soft and as she apologized, she pulled herself to her feet. “Thank you,” her gaze flickered up to them again and she offered him a friendly but timid little smile. And finally, she nodded her head in an answer to their question. She was perfectly okay save for the embarrassment of… well… everything.
Blossom bent down to grab her bag and pulled the strap over her shoulder again. She thought that as long as she was grabbing things off the floor, she might as well fetch Jamie’s books for... them. It was the least she could do since Jamie helped her up after all. They didn’t have to do that. “Here you go…” her voice drifted as she looked up at… him again and handed him his books. Miss…ter? She opted to just go with their name, “… Jamie.” Jamie dressed like a girl… But Blossom was… almost sure she was a he. That had to be right, right? Had she heard someone talking about him…? She couldn’t remember but she didn’t want to make things awkward by asking. All she remembered was him standing in front of everyone, so sure of himself even though he was obviously… different. He had a confidence Blossom lacked and wanted…
“Thank you… again,” she hadn’t even realized she had thanked him a second time. It just slipped past her lips. “I-It’s… It’s these shoes,” her gaze fell down to the flats on her feet, “They have no traction.” Maybe that would make her fall a little less embarrassing. She wasn’t sure. She didn’t even know if Jamie cared about why she fell. Blossom just felt as if she needed to make an excuse for simply being clumsy.

Awww. The girl was absolutely adorable when she blushed but Jamie still felt a little bad for her because he knew that she was embarrassed. When she took a hold of his hand he gently helped her to her feet with a small smile. She was cute when she was flustered and Jamie found it difficult not to smile at her even though most of the time he might possibly find something like that annoying. It suited her unlike most of the girls around her who just tried to put on an act for the boys they were after.
Jamie took his books as the girl offered them to her and he nodded his thanks. He was suddenly feeling pretty bad that his memory was terrible enough to where he couldn't remember her name. It wasn't that he didn't want to remember simple things like peoples names. Jamie really just had the memory of a goldfish. The bad feeling only worsened once he realized that she remembered his. "Thank you..." His voice trailed off as he struggled to remember her name. "I'm so sorry. My memory is terrible.." Jamie was certain it started with a B but that was about as far as he got.
When the girl mentioned that the reason she was falling was her shoes Jamie glanced down at them. They were cute little shoes and honestly, people wore flats every day including himself so he couldn't see why they would be hard to walk in. Was this girl one of those people who were just naturally clumsy no matter what? Jamie tilted his head to side as he looked at them and then glanced up at her again. "Then why did you wear them?" He paused. "What size are you? I have an extra pair of sandals in my bag if you want to borrow them.." But he liked them a lot so he better get them back.

“O-Oh,” she stammered when she realized he didn’t remember her name. She knew it must have put him in a fix. At least it would have put her in one if someone remembered her name but she didn’t remember his or hers. Though, she never really expected something like that could happen. She didn’t blame Jamie for forgetting her name. She wasn’t exactly what one would call… memorable. “It’s okay,” a little smile meant to reassure him twitched at the corner of her mouth for a moment before faltering and fading away, “I’m Blossom,” she paused a moment before timidly adding, “L-Like the… the Powerpuff girl.” The second she said that, she kind of regretted it. Wh-What if he made fun of her because she related to a little girl’s show? Well, it couldn’t be any worse if he found out she had a plush toy of the character that shared her name in her back-pack…
Her gaze remained transfixed on the shoes as she mentioned them. She frowned a little because they were so adorable… but so dangerous on her. A natural klutz shouldn’t wear things that just made it harder for them to walk in. It was just asking for some hurt. A soft sigh parted her lips and she raised her gaze for just a brief moment to glance at him before her dark eyes fell to her shoes once again. “They were cute and this is my first time wearing them. They’re new.” Her first and possibly last time wearing them. She might wear them once in a blue moon because she really did like them… And it would be a waste of money not to use them.
Only after he mentioned her borrowing his sandals did she completely look up. As sweet as the offer was, she politely shook her head. She couldn’t and didn’t want to be a bother to him. “I-It’s okay, really. I… I don’t want to be a bother. It’s bad enough I’ve wasted some of your time… Again, thank you for helping me.” It might be this exact attitude that made Blossom lack in the friend department. It might not be that people don’t try to befriend her. She just assumes she’s a bother and doesn’t attempt to connect.
